The Early (Hopeful) Years

Why not start drawing comics during the pandemic? It was either that or Stardew Valley.

I was in my garage, cleaning, and having a argument/discussion with one of my Covid-friends (definition: noun, a friend you are perfectly fine with maintaining a remote/digitial ONLY relationship).

I can't quite remember everything, but eventual he said, "well, fine. THEN you draw a comic!"

So, I did.

I was quite proud of it, too. My visual said everything I wanted to say.

Also, given that I was in my garage, I am not surprised at all that it had with organizing something out of chaos.

I guess I should had added more dust, dead rat, and a bunch of rusty tools.

Author Insight:

In the early days, I was trying to create visiual depictions for certain industry buzzwords, like 'fragility,' 'emotional intelligence,' 'mindfulness,' etc. I think this approach actually really helped me hone my 'style' because it allowed a working-backwards approach to the comic. If I had the word I knew I wanted to work on, I then created the scenario or setting.

And thus, history was made.
